Al Wasl lost to their hosts Al Qadsiah by two goals to one, in the opening of the first round of the AFC Champions League Elite.

Al Wasl’s lineup was as follows: Dinko Horkas in goal, with Abdelrahman Saleh, Adryelson Silva, Soufiane Bouftini, and Pedro Malheiro forming the back four. The midfield consisted of Brahian Palacios, Siaka Sidibe, Ridwan Popoola, Nicolas Gimenez, and Serginho, while Mehdi Taremi played in attack.

Al Wasl sought to score from the beginning of the match. In the 11th minute, Adryelson Silva tried to find the net with a header, but Al Qadsiah’s defense cleared the ball. Five minutes later, Soufiane Bouftini tried to score with another header, but it went wide of the post.
