Al Wasl lose in the AFC Champions League 2 quarter-finals


Al Wasl lost to their guest Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia with a score of 0-4 in the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League 2.

Al Wasl started the match with a lineup that included the following names: Mohammed Al Wali in goal, the back four Hugo Neto, Gabriel Vareta, Adryelson Silva and Pedro Malheiro, and in midfield Siaka Sidibe, Malek Janeer, Serginho, Nicolás Giménez and Brahian Palacios, while Miguel Borja led the attack.

Al Wasl began the match searching for the opening goal and pressed to score, but Al Nassr took the lead in the 11th minute through Cristiano Ronaldo. Al Wasl responded with attacks on Al Nassr’s goal, and the most dangerous attempt was through Pedro Malheiro in the 17th minute with a powerful shot that went just wide of the post.

In the 23rd minute, Iñigo Martínez scored the second goal for Al Nassr, and a minute later Borja went one-on-one with Al Nassr’s goal and struck a powerful shot that was saved by Al Nassr goalkeeper Bento.

Abdulelah Al Amri  scored the third goal for Al Nassr in the 26th minute.

In the second half, head coach Rui Vitória made substitutions as Renato Tapia, Abdelrahman Saleh and Renato Júnior came on as substitutes for Malek Janeer, Hugo Neto and Miguel Borja. Ali Saleh also came on as a substitute for Serginho, and João Ferreira entered as a substitute for Adryelson Silva, who left the field due to injury.

In the 46th minute, Serginho took a shot from the left side inside the penalty area but it went outside. Then in the 57th minute, Bryan Palacios struck a powerful left-footed shot from outside the penalty area that was saved by Al Nassr’s goalkeeper.

Al Wasl’s attempts to score continued, and in the 70th minute Sidibe struck a powerful left-footed shot inside the penalty area that was blocked by Al Nassr’s defense.

Ali Saleh took a powerful right-footed shot from outside the penalty area in the 76th minute that was blocked by the defense, and in the 80th minute Sadio Mané scored the fourth goal for Al Nassr.
