The summit clash between Al Wasl and Shabab Al Ahli ended in a 1-1 draw, within the matches of round eighteen of the ADNOC Pro League.

Al Wasl entered the match with a lineup that included Khaled Al Senani in goal. In front of him in defense were Hugo Neto, Gabriel da Silva, Soufiane Bouftini and Pedro Malheiro. In midfield participated Serginho, Nicolas Gimenez, Renato Tapia, Siaka Sidibe and Fabio Lima, while Miguel Borja led the attack.

Al Wasl started the match with an attacking approach in search of the opening goal, as Fabio Lima passed the ball to Pedro Malheiro in the twenty-eighth minute, but Shabab Al Ahli’s defense intervened and cleared it in time. A minute later, Hugo Neto fired a powerful shot towards Shabab Al Ahli’s goal, but the defense cleared it.

Soufiane Bouftini almost opened the scoring for Al Wasl in the thirtieth minute after he rose to meet a precise corner taken by Nicolas Gimenez and headed it powerfully, which almost entered the net before being cleared by Shabab Al Ahli goalkeeper Hamad Al Meqebaali.

At the start of the second half, Al Wasl took the lead from a quick attack that began with a fine touch by Gimenez, followed by a beautiful pass from Siaka Sidibe to Serginho, who placed the ball with his right foot into Shabab Al Ahli’s net in the forty-seventh minute.

Saeid Ezatolahi scored the equalizer for Shabab Al Ahli in the seventy-third minute. Al Wasl responded with a quick attack and a penetration into Shabab Al Ahli’s penalty area, but Siaka Sidibe’s powerful shot was caught by the goalkeeper in the seventy-sixth minute.

As the match approached its end, and in the fifth minute of stoppage time, Brahian Palacios attempted to score with a powerful shot from outside the penalty area, but luck was not on his side, and the match ended in a 1-1 draw for both teams.
