The head coach of the first football team at Al Wasl Club, Rui Vitória, confirmed his team’s readiness to face Sharjah in Matchweek 21 of the ADNOC Pro League, which will be played on Sunday, April 5, at 8:30 PM at the opponent’s stadium.

He said: “It is another game, a difficult game of course because it is against a team that has very good players. Maybe their position in the table is not what they expected before, but now it is the reality. They are a team with quality and a good coach, of course I know him. But now we are just thinking about ourselves, what we must do to go and win this game; this is our objective, of course, in all games.”

He added: “We had this period in which we worked very well. Our players performed well in this period, and we had a big number of training sessions without competition, but we need to compete, and this is an important game that we want to play.”

He concluded: “We have ambition and we want to win. Of course, we have a lot of respect for Sharjah because it is an important team, but this is a challenge for us, and this is our mentality. We like challenges and we like to prove and show our quality. We did very well before the break, and we played a friendly match that was good. We will go to the next match with respect and great ambition.”

For his part, player Salem Al Azeezi confirmed that the team will play an important match against Sharjah, considering it a good opportunity to prepare ahead of facing Al Nassr Saudi in the AFC Champions League Two, noting that the team trained well during the break and is in good technical condition, saying: “We are playing an important match against Sharjah, and I think it is a good rehearsal for the Al Nassr match.”
