
Luis Castro, head coach of Al Wasl’s first football team, spoke during the pre-match press conference for his team’s game against Bahrain’s Al Muharraq in the third round of the AFC Champions League 2, Group A, accompanied by player Tahnoon Al Zaabi.
Castro said: “It is a short tournament that includes only six matches in the group stage, so collecting points is extremely important. The upcoming match is very important, especially since we will face a good team and an excellent coach, whom I know well.”
He added: “They are well-organized, so I expect it to be a strong match on the field. We will do our utmost to win and get closer to qualification.”
He concluded his statements by saying: “I have full confidence in my players and in all the work we have done during the week. Both teams are in good condition, so it is expected to be a great match, and we are determined to win.”
For his part, player Tahnoon Al Zaabi affirmed the difficulty of the match, stressing the team’s determination to achieve a positive result that strengthens its position at the top of the group. He said: “The match will not be easy, especially since Al Muharraq is playing on its home ground and among its fans.”
He added: “We will work hard and prepare ourselves well for the match, and we are looking forward to winning and collecting the three points to take the lead in the group.”
