Al Wasl's first football team achieved an 8-1 victory over Qatar's Al Shamal SC in the friendly match that brought the two teams together as part of the preparation programme ahead of the start of the 2026-2027 sports season.

Brazilian Renato Junior opened the scoring for Al Wasl by netting the first and second goals, before Colombian Brahian Palacios added the third goal. His compatriot, striker Miguel Borja, then starred by scoring three consecutive goals to complete a hat-trick. Peruvian Renato Tapia further strengthened the score by scoring the seventh goal, while Ali Saleh concluded the scoring with the eighth goal.

This match comes as part of the first team's technical staff's efforts to enhance the players' technical and physical levels, while increasing the cohesion among the squad in order to reach the team's highest possible level.
