Al Wasl loses to Al Dhafra in ADNOC Pro League

n the second round of ADNOC Pro League, at Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan Stadium, Al Wasl lost its match against Al Dhafra with a score of 3-1.

Al Wasl entered the match with a (3-3-4) formation, with coach Luis Castro relying on Khalid Al Senani in goal, and in front of him the defensive quartet of Pedro Malheiro, Soufiane Bouftini, Adryelson Silva, and Hugo Neto, while in midfield were Siaka Sidibe, Malek Janeer, and Nicolas Gimenez, and the attacking trio was led by Fabio Lima, Matheus Saldanha, and Ali Saleh.

“The Emperor” started the match strongly and imposed its attacking style from the beginning, but Al Dhafra opened the scoring early through Marcelo Filho in the 8th minute. Al Wasl quickly responded to equalize in the 41st minute, after a precise long pass from Siaka Sidibe to Pedro Malheiro, who sent a perfect cross on a golden plate to Fabio Lima, who placed it elegantly with his left foot into the net.

In the second half, coach Luis Castro made substitutions to strengthen the attack, bringing in Serginho and Renato Junior instead of Siaka Sidibe and Matheus Saldanha, Brahian Palacios, Abdelrahman Saleh, and Tahnoon Al Zaabi instead of Hugo Neto, Fabio Lima, and Nicolas Gimenez.

Al Dhafra managed to score two more goals, the first was by Karim El Berkaoui in the 63rd minute, and the second by Khalil Ibrahim in the 69th minute. Al Wasl players tried to reduce the deficit through intense attacks, but they did not result in goals.
