In the presence of Sheikha Shamsa bint Hasher Al Maktoum, supervisor of the women’s volleyball team; His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Ahmed bin Fahad, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Wasl Sports Club; Mr. Tariq Saeed Al Shehhi, Board Member and Chairman of the Collective and Individual Games Company; and Mr. Ahmed Saeed Al Nuaimi, Director of Games, Al Wasl women’s volleyball team secured second place in the eighth edition of the Arab Women’s Clubs Games held in the Emirate of Sharjah, after defeating the Lebanese team Jeunesse Baouchrieh 3–1.
Al Wasl players achieved outstanding results in the tournament, as the team began its campaign with a 3–1 victory over Akkad Ankawa, then lost to Sharjah Ladies 3–0, defeated Kuwait’s Al Fatat Club 3–0, and later beat Syria’s Taldara team by the same score, demonstrating great harmony and strong fighting spirit.
On the individual level, Al Wasl players Valentina Perez was named Best Player in Position 2, and Nicole Dioliva was named Best Player in Position 4, reflecting the organized technical performance led efficiently by the coaching staff, which contributed to Al Wasl finishing as runners-up — an achievement considered an important step in the development of women’s volleyball at Al Wasl Club, confirming its growing presence on the Arab sports scene and laying the foundation for achieving future titles and championships.
