Al Wasl Begin the League Campaign with a Victory Over United

Al Wasl achieved a five-goal-to-one victory over their visitors, United, in the first round of the ADNOC Pro League.

Al Wasl’s starting lineup for the match was as follows: Mohamed Al Wali in goal; the back four consisted of Hugo Neto, Adryelson Silva, Soufiane Bouftini, and Pedro Malheiro; in midfield, Ali Saleh, Leandro Spadacio, Ridwan Popoola, Siaka Sidibe, and Brahian Palacios; while Renato Junior led the attack.

Al Wasl started the match with attacking pressure to score, and they achieved that through Renato Junior in the fourth minute, following a beautiful assist and a precise cross from Pedro Malheiro.

United equalized in the seventeenth minute through Adel Wgdan, and Al Wasl responded with attacks that did not find success.

In the second half, head coach Rui Vitória made substitutions to increase the attacking pressure, bringing on Nicolas Gimenez and Serginho as substitutes for Leandro Spadacio and Brahian Palacios. Renato Tapia and Matheus Saldanha also came on in place of Ridwan Popoola and Renato Junior, while Abdulrahman Saleh replaced Hugo Neto.

Al Wasl’s attacks to score continued, and Siaka Sidibe struck a powerful shot in the fifty-seventh minute from outside the penalty area, which went wide.

The Al Wasl pressure resulted in the team’s second goal in the thirty-sixth minute, when United player Nagoro Dao scored an own goal.

Al Wasl intensified their attacking pressure on United to increase the score, and Serginho made his mark by scoring Al Wasl’s third goal in the eighty-seventh minute. Ali Saleh confirmed Al Wasl’s victory with the fourth goal through an outstanding individual effort and a beautiful pass from Siaka Sidibe. Serginho concluded the match with the fifth goal with a creative touch following a wonderful pass from Renato Tapia.
