Al Wasl Club organized a workshop titled “Integrity and Anti-Doping,” as part of the club licensing requirements and in cooperation with the UAE Pro League. The workshop was presented by Mr. Ghanem Saleh, the legal advisor at the UAE Pro League, where he reviewed the most prominent regulations and legislations related to sports integrity, and explained the seriousness of prohibited behaviors in the world of football, such as match-fixing, the consequences for players if they become involved in it, how players can protect themselves from this phenomenon, and the duties of players if exposed to any attempt to persuade them to manipulate results, including the importance of immediately reporting it to the relevant authorities to avoid any exploitation attempts or suspicions that may arise from that.
The workshop also addressed the issue of betting on football match results, outlining the strict penalties associated with it and the potential consequences players may face if they become involved.
The lecturer as well focused on the dangers of doping, its negative impact on the player’s health and sports career, and the severe consequences of violating sports laws and regulations, all within the framework of raising players’ awareness and educating them to ensure a successful and honest sporting career.
