Al Wasl held the pre-match press conference ahead of the team’s match with Baniyas in the opening round of the ADNOC Pro League, set to take place at Zabeel Stadium on Sunday, August 17. The press conference was attended by head coach Luís Castro and team captain Ali Saleh.

At the start of the conference, Luís Castro stressed the importance of the opening fixture in the team’s league campaign, saying: “Our preparations have been reassuring and are in full readiness for Baniyas. They are a strong defensive side, and we must show fighting spirit and determination to achieve victory.”

He added: “It is always important for players to build chemistry quickly. We want things to progress fast  the communication between the players is very good, and I have great confidence in them.”

Castro also delivered a message to the fans: “The supporters are the heart of the team, and my goal is always to make them happy.”

For his part, team captain Ali Saleh expressed his excitement for the season’s kickoff, stating: “We understand the importance of the match, and we all feel the responsibility. God willing, we will put in a good performance and claim the three points.”

He concluded: “The team is ready. The first match in the league is often the toughest, but we will do our best to deliver a strong performance and take advantage of our chances to score goals.”
