Al Wasl first-team head coach, Rui Vitória, confirmed the team’s readiness to face Khorfakkan in the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup, stressing the importance of continuing the positive results and making every effort to achieve victory and secure the three points.

Speaking during the pre-match press conference, Vitória said: “It is another match in the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup, and of course, our main objective is to continue our good results.”

He added: “We know that it will be a difficult match because Khorfakkan is a good team, and when they play against us, the match will be difficult for them and for us as well, but we want to continue playing in this way, scoring goals, and continuing the fight to win the three points.”

He continued: “We do not care too much about which competition we will compete in. What we need is to compete, whether it is the league, the AFC Champions League, or the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup.”

He added: “With this vision, our players are ready, and we want the match to come and try to win the three points.”

He concluded his remarks by saying: “It will be difficult, as I said, but we will fight to achieve this victory, and we have to play at a good and high level to achieve our objectives and give one hundred percent of our efforts.”

For his part, Al Wasl player Brahian Palacios confirmed the team’s desire to continue its winning streak and achieve a positive result away from home.

Palacios said: “We are playing against Khorfakkan this time, but away from our home in the cup competition. It will not be an easy match because we are facing a good team, but we are seeking to continue our victories.”
