Al Wasl Club was crowned champion of the Arab Elite Academies Championship 2025 for the Under-9 years category, in a new achievement that reflects the great efforts exerted by the club in developing age-group teams and confirms the distinguished position held by Al Wasl Academy at both the local and regional levels.
This achievement comes in light of the direct support and interest of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of the Club, and the continuous follow-up by Al Wasl Football Company, headed by Ahmed Al Teneiji and the members of the Board of Directors, in addition to the pivotal role of Al Wasl Academy’s management, which continues to work according to a clear methodology based on the early development of players and the enhancement of their technical and mental abilities from the early stages.
The championship witnessed the participation of teams from clubs and academies from within and outside the United Arab Emirates, which contributed to raising the technical level of the competition, thanks to the diversity of football schools and coaching expertise among the participating teams. Al Wasl players also won outstanding individual awards, with Hazza Omar Al Ghafri receiving the Best Player Award, and Ali Adam winning the Best Coach Award of the tournament.
The list of participating countries included the UAE, Kuwait, the Sultanate of Oman, Jordan, Lebanon, and Bahrain, confirming the expanding scope of the championship and its transformation into an important Arab platform for discovering young talents and giving them the opportunity to gain experience in a professional organizational environment.
This title is considered a natural extension of Al Wasl Club and its Academy’s approach in focusing on organized grassroots work and instilling a culture of creating champions, ensuring the sustainability of success and preparing a generation capable of representing the club and Emirati football in the best possible way in the future.
