Al Wasl lose in the twenty-first round of the league

Al Wasl lost to its host Sharjah with a score of 1–2, in the twenty-first round of the ADNOC Pro League.

Al Wasl’s lineup for the match included the following names: Khaled Al Senani in goal, Pedro Malheiro, Soufiane Bouftini, Gabriel Da Silva and Hugo Neto in defense; in midfield Fabio Lima, Siaka Sidibe, Joao Ferreira, Nicolas Gimenez and Serginho; and in attack Renato Junior.

Since the starting whistle, Al Wasl sought to shake Sharjah’s net, and the first attempt came through Fabio Lima in the first minute with a header that was caught by Adel Al Hosani.

Al Wasl’s pressure paid off in the 17th minute with the first goal scored by Nicolas Gimenez from a beautiful team move started by Renato Junior, with a fine assist from Serginho to put Al Wasl in the lead.

Al Wasl continued its attempts to score, and Fabio Lima almost scored the second goal from a direct free kick that went past the post and out of play. In the 40th minute, Serginho tried to score with a powerful shot but was unsuccessful.

At the beginning of the second half, Ousmane Camara equalized for Sharjah in the 49th minute. Al Wasl responded with quick attacks, as Renato Junior almost scored the second goal for Al Wasl in the 55th minute, but his shot hit Sharjah goalkeeper Adel Al Hosani.

Renato Junior left the field to be replaced by Miguel Borja, while Ali Saleh and Brahian Palacios came on as substitutes for Serginho and Joao Ferreira, and Fabio Lima was substituted with Rodrigo Oliveira coming in his place.

Al Wasl continued its attempts to score the second goal, but against the run of play, Sharjah scored the second goal in the 66th minute through Khaled Al Dhannhani.

Al Wasl tried to equalize, and in the 73rd minute Ali Saleh delivered a long pass to Pedro Malheiro, who struck strongly but was unlucky not to score.

The yellow attacks continued, and Palacios delivered a dangerous cross that was caught by Sharjah’s goalkeeper in the 81st minute. In the 85th minute, he again sent a cross to Miguel Borja, who struck it powerfully but it went just past the post. In the fifth minute of stoppage time, Palacios fired a strong shot on goal that was caught by the goalkeeper, and the match ended with Sharjah winning 2–1.
