Major General Ismail Al Gergawi, President of the UAE Basketball Federation, visited Al Wasl Club on an official visit to discuss the most prominent challenges that occurred during the current sports season, in addition to the preparations to enter the next season.

This came in the presence of a group of officials from the club and the federation, among them Ahmed Saeed Al Nuaimi, Director of Team and Individual Sports at Al Wasl Club; Khiyam Abdulaziz, Basketball Supervisor and  board member of the Team and Individual Sports Company; Rashid Abdullah Al Naqbi, Director of National Teams; in addition to Mohammed Abdullah Al Haj, Head of the Executive Office and Financial Director of the Federation.

Major General Al Gergawi confirmed during the meeting the importance of cooperation between the federation and the clubs to develop the sport of basketball in the country and to face the difficulties that appeared during the current season, stressing the full support of the federation for the clubs in enhancing the technical and administrative preparations for the new season.

In turn, Al Wasl Club officials expressed their appreciation for the visit and the directives that would raise the level of performance and readiness of the team in the upcoming competitions, affirming their keenness to achieve the aspirations of the federation and the fans.

This visit comes within the framework of the federation’s continuous efforts to enhance communication with clubs and to raise the level of Emirati basketball on all levels.
