Al Wasl defeated their hosts Ajman 3–1 in the conclusion of Matchweek 22 of the ADNOC Pro League.
Al Wasl started the match with a lineup consisting of Suhail Abdulla in goal; in defense: Abdallah Hausawi, Hugo Neto, Rodrigo Oliveira, and Gabriel da Silva. In midfield: Ali Saleh, Siaka Sidibe, Malek Jeneer, Brahian Palacios, and Nicolas Gimenez, while Miguel Borja led the attack.
Al Wasl began the match with a clear attacking approach, seeking an early goal to gain the advantage. Nicolas Gimenez nearly opened the scoring in the 7th minute with a powerful shot from outside the box, but Ajman goalkeeper Ali Al Hosani parried it away for a corner.
The pressure from Al Wasl continued, and in the 30th minute, Ali Saleh delivered a long ball to Hugo Neto, who struck it powerfully, but the Ajman goalkeeper gathered it.
Al Wasl took the lead in the 36th minute when Miguel Borja capitalized on a rebound from goalkeeper Ali Al Hosani following a shot by Hugo Neto, placing it neatly into the net to give Al Wasl a 1–0 lead.
In the second half, head coach Rui Vitória made attacking substitutions, bringing on Joao Ferreira in place of Malek Jeneer, and Fabio Lima and Adryelson Silva instead of Siaka Sidibe and Abdullah Hausawi. Ali Saleh and Miguel Borja were also substituted, with Serginho and Abou Ibrahima Konaté coming on in their place.
Al Wasl maintained their pressure, which paid off with the second goal in the 73rd minute from a quick counterattack initiated by Brahian Palacios and finished brilliantly by Ali Saleh with an impressive individual effort.
Four minutes later, Brahian Palacios confirmed Al Wasl’s dominance with another fast break, firing a powerful left-footed shot that the Ajman goalkeeper could not stop.
Ajman pulled one back in the 91st minute through Lithierry Silva, before the referee blew the final whistle, confirming Al Wasl’s 3–1 victory.
