Al Wasl Athletics team continued its brilliance this season after being crowned champions of the UAE Cup in the general category, confirming its strong presence and dominance over the competitions of the sports season, to add the third championship to its cabinet during the current season.

The crowning came after a series of distinguished results achieved by the team’s athletes in various races and competitions, as the team’s champions succeeded in winning a large number of colored medals, reflecting the volume of technical and physical work presented by the players and the technical staff throughout the season.

The team achieved seven gold medals through Ali Mohammed Jassim in the 100-meter race, Semen Bordov in shot put, Saif Abdullah Al Alawi in the 1500-meter race, Saud Juma Al Zaabi in the 800-meter race, and Vladimir Lysenko in the 400-meter hurdles, in addition to the relay teams 4×100 and 4×400 winning the gold medal.

The team also added four silver medals through Jassim Mohammed in shot put, Naseeb Suleiman in the 200-meter race, Sultan Salman in the 400-meter race, in addition to Semen Bordov in the discus throw competition.

In the bronze medals, Mohammed Hassan Al Noubi managed to win the bronze medal in the 100-meter race, while Mohammed Abdullah Abbas won two bronze medals in the long jump and triple jump competitions.

This great achievement reflects the distinguished level presented by the athletics team this season, and the great efforts made by the technical and administrative staff and the players, to continue winning championships and raising the club’s name in various sports competitions.
