Al Wasl Football Academy organized an awareness lecture for its players on honouring parents and respecting elders and their importance in a player’s life, in cooperation with the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai. The lecture targeted young players in the age groups from 7 to 11 years, as part of the club’s commitment to promoting moral and educational values among its age-group players and instilling principles that contribute to building a well-rounded sporting personality, both on and off the field.
The lecture was delivered by Mr. Saleh Zayed and addressed the importance of honouring parents and treating them with kindness, as well as appreciating the care, support, and sacrifices they provide. It also emphasized the need to respect older people, appreciate their status, and benefit from their experience and guidance, in a way that reinforces the values of respect, humility, and appreciation among players and helps raise them with good morals and positive behaviour.
The lecture also highlighted the role of the family in a player’s sporting journey and the moral and psychological support it provides, which contributes to strengthening the player’s self-confidence and motivating them to improve their performance and achieve their goals. Honouring parents and appreciating their efforts is one of the important aspects of a player’s upbringing.
The lecture emphasized the importance of respecting coaches, administrators, and older people, listening to their advice, and benefiting from their experience, as these behaviours help players develop and acquire discipline and commitment, while enhancing their ability to interact positively with their teammates and members of the community. Humility and respect for others also have a positive impact on a player’s performance and team spirit, contributing to an athletic environment based on cooperation, mutual appreciation, and respect.
