Al Wasl Football Company announced the appointment of the Swedish Mesut Miral (37 years old) as interim coach of the first football team, succeeding Portuguese coach Luis Castro.

Miral previously worked in Sweden with the teams Jönköpings Södra as assistant coach, Dalkurd, BK Olympic as a coach, and also worked at AIK Solna as assistant to the Serbian coach Milos Milojevic, who accompanied him at Al Wasl and achieved with him the league and cup double in the 2023-2024 season.

After that, Miral coached Duhok of Iraq and won with them the GCC Champions League for clubs in the 2024-2025 season, before being appointed as sporting director of Khorfakkan Football Club.
