Portuguese Rui Vitória, head coach of the first football team at Al Wasl FC, confirmed his team’s readiness to face Al Bataeh Club in Round 17 of the ADNOC Pro League, stressing the importance of continuing the strong performance after the recent win in AFC Champions League Two.
Vitória said during the pre-match press conference: “We have another game after the win that we achieved in the AFC Champions League Two, and it is an important match for us because this means that what we did in the previous match we need to continue with the same performance and behaviour, and we must show everybody that we have the quality to play these games with less time between them.”
He added: “Of course, it will be a difficult match because Al Bataeh is a team that has some important players. We study the opponent, we will prepare the players, and we will be ready for the match.”
He continued: “At this moment, and with the confidence that we have after the win in the last match, we are ready. We want to play and win for our fans so that their confidence in us increases and helps us to achieve more victories.”
For his part, Al Wasl goalkeeper Khalid Al Senani stated that the match will not be easy against Al Bataeh, but stressed the team’s desire to secure the three points, saying: “It will be a difficult match against Al Bataeh because they are a good team, but our goal is clear, which is the three points.”
He also indicated that the team will enter the match with high morale after the recent victory over Al Zawraa and qualifying to the quarterfinals of the AFC Champions League Two, while emphasizing the importance of the fans’ support for the team.
