
Al Wasl achieved victory over its host Al Ain with one goal to nil, in the match that brought the two teams together within the competitions of the third round of the Pro League Under 23 Years.
Al Wasl entered the match with a lineup that included: Suhail Abdulla in goalkeeping, in front of him the defensive trio Daniel Pedrozo, Gabriel Dos Santos, and Yousif Almheiri, while in midfield were Rodrigo Oliveira, Malek Janeer, Abdulla Ahmed, and Khaled Ali, while the attack was led by Brahian Palacios, Khalifa Khamis Saad, and Abdulla Al Shamsi.
The “Emperor” controlled the course of play from the beginning and pressed on Al Ain’s goal searching for scoring, but its attempts did not result in goals in the first half.
In the second half, coach Tiago Teixeira made attacking substitutions, as he brought in Rabee Hassan Salmin, Bader Nasser Khamis, and Naif Ahmed instead of Abdulla Al Shamsi, Khalifa Khamis Saad, and Yousif Al Almheiri, and also brought in Abdulla Bader Marzooq and Ali Ismail Madani in place of Khaled Ali and Abdulla Ahmed.
Brahian Palacios succeeded in scoring the only goal of the match in the 51st minute from a penalty kick, awarded after a foul was committed on Khaled Ali inside the penalty area.
With this victory, Al Wasl raised its tally to 6 points, to rank fifth in the league standings.
