Al Wasl lose in Round Nine of the League

Al Wasl lost to its host Shabab Al Ahli by three goals to one in a postponed match from Round Nine of the ADNOC Pro League.

Al Wasl’s starting lineup for the match was as follows: Khaled Al Senani in goal; a defensive quartet consisting of Pedro Malheiro, Soufiane Bouftini, Adryelson Silva, and Hugo Neto. In midfield were Ali Saleh, Siaka Sidibe, Renato Tapia, Nicolas Gimenez, and Serginho, while Adama Diallo led the attack.

Al Wasl sought to score from the beginning, and their most dangerous chance in the first half came from a beautiful ball by Ali Saleh in the thirty-fifth minute, which nearly entered the goal after a corner that was cleared by Shabab Al Ahli’s defense. He struck it powerfully toward goal, but goalkeeper Hamad Al Meqebaali pushed it out of play.

Al Wasl’s attacks continued, and in the thirty-seventh minute, from a cross that reached Adama Diallo inside the penalty area, the goalkeeper cleared the ball, which fell again to Diallo, who set it up for Nicolas Gimenez to strike powerfully, but the defense blocked it.

Ali Saleh put Al Wasl in the lead in the forty-fourth minute from a penalty kick after a foul on Sufyan Bouftini, which he successfully converted into the net of Shabab Al Ahli.

At the start of the second half, Yuri Cesar Santos equalized for Shabab Al Ahli in the forty-ninth minute.

Al Wasl head coach Mr. Mesut Meral brought on Renato Junior and Fabio Lima as substitutes for Adama Diallo and Ali Saleh, while Gabriel da Silva and Brahian Palacios came on in place of Renato Tapia and Hugo Neto.

Yuri Cesar Santos scored the second goal for Shabab Al Ahli in the sixty-eighth minute. Al Wasl tried to equalize, and Renato Junior nearly scored for Al Wasl in the seventy-eighth minute with a bicycle kick that was unlucky not to go in. Against the run of play, Mohammed Jumah Al Mansoori scored the third goal for Shabab Al Ahli in the eighty-eighth minute of the match.
