Al Wasl Settles Bur Dubai Derby with a Double

Al Wasl achieved a 2-1 victory over its guest Al Nasr, in the closing match of Matchweek 6 of the ADNOC Pro League.

Portuguese coach Luís Castro started with a lineup that included Mohamed Al Wali as goalkeeper, with a defensive line of Hugo Neto, Soufiane Bouftini, Adryelson Silva, and Pedro Malheiro.
In midfield, Nicolas Gimenez, N'Guessan Jean, and Fábio De Lima, while the attack was led by the trio Ali Saleh, Serginho, and Matheus Saldanha.

Al Wasl began the match pressing for an early goal, and Serginho nearly scored in the 6th minute with a header after capitalizing on goalkeeper Ahmed Shambih’s exit.

Defender Adryelson put The Emperor ahead in the 26th minute with a powerful header following an accurate cross from Soufiane Bouftini.

Ali Saleh doubled the lead in the 45th minute after receiving a long pass from Serginho, which he finished confidently into Al Nasr’s net.

In the second half, coach Luís Castro made several substitutions, bringing on Abdelrahman Saleh, Adama Diallo, Thanoon Al Zaabi, and Siaka Sidibe in place of Hugo Neto, Sérginho, Matheus Saldanha, and N'Guessan Jean.

Abdoulaye Toure reduced the deficit for Al Nasr in the 53rd minute.

Al Wasl responded quickly with successive attacking attempts despite Al Nasr’s defensive compactness. In the 75th minute, Pedro Malheiro sent a long ball to Ali Saleh, whose header missed the target narrowly. Four minutes later, Nicolas Gimenez almost scored from a scramble inside Al Nasr’s penalty area.

The score remained unchanged in the final minutes, and the match ended with Al Wasl’s victory, raising their tally to 13 points and moving up to third place in the league standings.
