Al Wasl achieved a victory over its host Al Wehdat of Jordan by two goals to one, in the second round of the AFC Champions League 2 for Group A.
Al Wasl started the match with a 4-5-1 formation, with Khalid Al Senanias a goalkeeper, and in front of him the defensive quartet: Abdelrahman Saleh, Adryelson Silva, Yousif Al Mheiri, and Pedro Malheiro. In midfield were Ali Saleh, Nicolas Gimenez, Renato Tapia, Fabio De Lima, and Serginho, while Al Wasl’s attack was led by Adama Diallo.
From the very start of the match, Al Wasl imposed its superiority and controlled the course of play, intensifying its pressure on Al Wehdat’s goal in an attempt to open the scoring early, while the Jordanian team relied on defensive compactness to face Al Wasl's attacks. The most dangerous attempt came through Fabio Lima with a powerful left-footed shot from outside the box in the 18th minute, but goalkeeper Ahmed Erbash saved it.
Fabio Lima opened the scoring in the 38th minute with a brilliantly executed indirect free kick, giving Al Wasl the lead before the end of the first half.
In the second half, coach LuIs Castro made substitutions, bringing on Hugo Neto and Matheus Saldanha in place of Abdulrehman Saleh and Serginho. Also coming on were N'Guessan Jean, Brahian Palacios, and Tahnoon Al Zaabi, while Adama Diallo, Nicolas Gimenez, and Fabio Lima went off.

Al Wasl continued its pressure at the start of the second half, seeking to extend its lead, and nearly added a second goal through a powerful left-footed strike by Fabio Lima in the 53rd minute, but Al Wehdat’s goalkeeper pushed the ball away.
Matheus Saldanha strengthened Al Wasl’s lead with a wonderful strike from outside the penalty area in the 63rd minute, which nestled into Al-Wehdat’s net, announcing the second goal for The Emperor. Al Wehdat reduced the gap in the 94th minute through Junior Ajayi.
With this victory, Al Wasl raises its tally to six points and continues to lead its group.
