The press conference for the first football team’s match against Al Jazira, in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank Cup, was held this afternoon at Al Wasl Club. The head coach of the first team, Mr. Mesut Meral, and the player Adryelson Silva spoke about the team’s preparations for the match.

Meral said: “I have completed a week with the team, and things are excellent and there is nothing we complain about.”

He continued: “I have been here before, and I know that the environment here is based on a holistic approach, and this is what I like.”

He confirmed that everyone has a unified goal and vision, saying: “Everyone has the same goal, and I have always said that football belongs to the players, but the club belongs to the fans.”

He concluded his speech: “We hope to regain the fighting spirit again, and to fight in every match, and I am sure that if we continue to play with a fighting spirit, the fans will be proud of the players.”

For his part, Adryelson Silva stressed the importance of the upcoming match against Al Jazira and achieving a positive result before the second leg at Zabeel Stadium, saying: “It is an important match that we are playing against Al Jazira, and it comes after an international break, and we are missing a number of players because they are with the national teams. However, the players who are with the team are ready for this match, and we seek to come out with a positive result that makes our task easier in the second leg held at our stadium.”
